Development and design of the EHR online learning system (eHRol)
Heather has lead the initial design for clinical coder training with Andrew leading the software development team. Working with the Global eHealth Collaborative (GeHCo) This innovative product leverages cloud based systems to improve quality clinical coder training and reduce the expense of maintaining coding resources. With eHealth Education (EHE) eHRol has been extending providing more complex digital health simulation environments and broader learning management system functionality, beyond that of traditional LMSs.
International Standards
Heather leads international standards development for concept representation at ISO and has contributed to the development of education for SNOMED CT, and openEHR. LGI develop courses to help you gain the skills identified as essential for these standards. Andrew served on the Board of HL7 Australia and Heather lead activities in Terminology for HL7 International
Heather also contributes to terminology development for ISO standards for Traditional Medicine, helping to harmonise traditional medicines as a specialization of medicine rather than as a separate system.
Synapse clinical coding AI software development
The LGI Team worked along with Synapse Medical’s coding and business management team for healthcare to identify opportunities to simplify clinical coding workload while ensuring application of coding standards. This work goes beyond pulling clinical terms from the records. recognising context and coding rules.
Development of SBS (Saudi Billing System) and Grouper
Heather is the ICT expert on the Technical Advisory Team to this exciting national project. Working with the national Centre for Health Insurance in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia this identified the roadmap for future developments to meet practical needs for insurance and financial management of healthcare through improved classification systems and financial grouper design.
National Urban Health Mission – India
Heather is the ICT expert on the Technical Advisory Team to this exciting national project in India. She works in the Monitoring and Evaluation team which has reviewed systems and approaches nationally and in individual States to improve the delivery of care and efficiency of systems delivering healthcare in the urban slums of India.
Specific tasks include review of data quality, preparation of guide on data development, specification for national data dictionary approach preparation of requirements for integrated data collection system to collect data at the clinical work front. This system gives access to data for those providing direct patient care, as well as reporting to the multiple individual reporting systems to reduce the data capture burden and improve the quality of data available to all to support delivery of healthcare.
